This program is designed to be used as a tool to help artists define their career goals and to provide ways to achieve them. Whether an artist needs a sounding board to bounce ideas off of, or a more in-depth professional relationship, getting straight no fluff options from industry professionals can be of enormous help.
- Am I an artist?
- Do I have what it takes to achieve my stated artistic goals?
- What do I need to know to get there?
These three questions loom large for artists and the answers are as hard to find as a needle in a hay stack. We at Jazz Alley would never profess to know all the answers but can offer knowledgeable assistance and guidance to helpfully clarify your questions.
The primary reason our team can offer insight is that we have been working in the industry for over thirty years and have the unique opportunity to watch as thousands of artists come and go. We have watched artists rise though the ranks of the music industry and others simply disappear. Year in and year out we see artists who consistently draw and grow audiences and work in their profession all over the world.
The one constant we have found is those who are most likely to succeed have strong management teams and defined goals. But before any of this can happen, understanding what is involved is of the utmost importance. It is in that regard that we can help.
John Dimitriou has been the owner of Jazz Alley for over 30 years and has worked in the jazz business for 8 years prior at "Blues Alley" in Washington DC, "The Place" in Burien, and "The Pioneer Banque" in Seattle.
Gary Bannister has been artistic director for Jazz Alley for 25 years and has a well established working relationship with booking agencies that span the myriad of styles in today's music scene.
Rachael Millikan has been the publicist and promotional director for over 12 years with a profound knowledge of the inner workings of the media.
Rob Perry has been the manager of Jazz Alley for close to 28 years. He watches artist mannerisms firsthand and sees how artists interact with their audiences; he interfaces with artists and their management and takes care of seemingly mundane issues like transportation, lodging and product sales.
Although there are no guarantees in this world, this team goes a long way putting into place the disciplines needed by any artist to give them the best possible chance for success.
How does this work?
Please fill out the information below along with a brief explanation as to what your goals are and what level of involvement you would like. This could range from a basic consultation to full-time personal management.
We will review your information and set up a free initial consultation with John Dimitriou to discuss what you think may be of interest in furthering your career. During that meeting we will have an honest discussion about looking for and determining if there are ways our team can help you achieve your goals.
Costs will be discussed during the consultation and will be commensurate with the level of assistance you seek from our Artist Development and Management Team.
